Henry Raphael Mallek died March 7, 2017, in Bedford NH after a brief illness at the age of 97. He was born October 24, 1919, to Stanley and Josephine (Stawarz) Mallek in Manchester NH.
As a self-made man, he had a long and successful life. He graduated from Manchester Central High School. During World War II, he worked at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut in support of the war effort. He and his family moved to Hooksett after he became general manager and, later, president of Keller Products where he worked as a consultant after his retirement.
He was a wonderful conversationalist, loved to play golf, especially as a long standing member of Derryfield Country Club, and listen to classical music, in particular opera. As a young man, he was a member of a number of choirs in Manchester. Even later in life, he was known for his love of singing, often closing phone conversations with his daughter and son-in-law with the lullaby, "Day Is Done."
He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Caroline (Lasak) Mallek who died in 1990, as well as his parents and brothers: Edward Mallek, Stephen Mallek, Leo Mallek, and sister Stella Mallek. Day is done,
Gone the sun,
From the fields, from the hills, from the sky,
All is well, safely rest
God is nigh.
