Henry A. Routhier

Henry A. Routhier, 92, of Manchester died November 20, 2010 at the Ridgewood Center in Bedford after a period of declining health.

Born in Lowell, MA on October 27, 1918, he was the son of Samuel and Caroline (Wozniak) Routhier. He was educated in the Lowell school system.

During WWII, he served in the US Marine Corps.

Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Manchester Hosiery Mills. He had also worked at Rockingham Race Track and been a mill worker with Pacific Mills in Lawrence for many years.

Henry was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, an avid bowler and a member of the Russian American Club's Cribbage League. He enjoyed playing cards and visiting Foxwoods Casino. He loved children and was a longtime volunteer at Manchester West Little League, coaching Notre Dame for many seasons. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and will be remembered for always appreciating the good in others.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 69 years Rose E. (Sayer) Routhier of Manchester.

Family members include one son, Henry A. Routhier Jr. and his wife Lynn of Stafford Springs, CT; one daughter, Janice Beaudin and her husband Roger of Manchester; three grandchildren, Kristine, Robin, and David; two great-grandsons, Nickolas and Ryan; one sister, Blanche LaRoche of Lowell; nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church on Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Encryptment with military honors followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
