Henry B. "Hank" Roy

June 17, 1943 — February 22, 2023

Manchester

Henry B. “Hank” Roy, 79, of Hooksett died unexpectedly in the arms of his wife, whom he affectionately referred to as “his angel”, on February 22, 2023.

Born in Manchester on June 17, 1943, he was the son of the late Henry N. and Irene (Hemond) Roy. He was a lifelong resident of the Queen City, having graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1962.

Hank served in the Army National Guard for 6 years and was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist in 1972. He had a passion for cars and owned and operated his own auto dealership, Expert Enterprises, working up until the day of his passing.

Hank loved music and was a professional private disc jockey known as “Hank, the DJ”, which became his second career. He was extremely active, spending much of his free time playing in table tennis clubs, mountain biking, and setting new personal records on the Peloton. He was a member of FOMBA (Friends of Massabesic Bicycling Association) which helped cut trails for others to enjoy around the lake.  He was also a lover of animals and they equally loved and trusted him as well, often being referred to as “The Animal Whisperer”.

Hank was a very patient, compassionate, selfless and generous man with an enormous heart. He was very proud of his family and his grandchildren, and loved his family with his whole heart. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.  Hank is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Anita M. (Jalbert) Roy of Hooksett; four children, Kristen Taylor and husband Gregory of Hooksett, Christopher Roy and wife Kristen of Bedford, Jill Roy of Naples, FL, and Kenny Roy and wife Vanessa of Salem; and seven grandchildren, Michelle and Kevin Taylor, Mitchell, Mia and Adam Roy, and Norah Piantidosi and Remy Roy. He was predeceased by both parents; and his two brothers, Ronald and Marc Roy.
