Herman L. Bennett, 77, of Manchester died August 20, 2006 at his home after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester on April 26, 1929, he was the son of Fred and Bessy (Davis) Bennett. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
During World War II he served in the US Army. He later worked for Sears Roebuck Company for 18 years.
The family includes his wife of 55 years, Ruth (Merritt) Bennett of Manchester; five children, Rev. Linda Bennett, Cathy Ball, Marjorie Anagnos, JoAnn Bennett and Daniel Bennett all of Manchester; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a brother, Edward Bennett of Manchester; two sisters, Florence Beaudet and Della Papajean both of Manchester.
IN HIS LIFE: He enjoyed a good joke and a hardy laugh. He loved his family, his home and the Red Sox.
A committal service was held Friday August 25, 2006. in the chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester assisted the family with arrangements.
