Huguette M. Deteen

   Huguette Marcelle Deteen “GiGi”, died peacefully on February 28, 2023 at Boston Medical Center. 

   She was born January 30, 1928 and was the daughter of Aldeoda & Placide Hebert.  She attended St. George Schools in Manchester. 

   GiGi worked for several years as a weaving instructor at Chicopee Mills then later retired from ChemFab.  She and her beloved husband, Frank, enjoyed square dancing and traveling around the US in retirement.  She was an accomplished seamstress making all of her loved ones gifts of handmade items.  Needlepoint, knitting and crocheting were also a passion of hers. 

   She was an active member of Catholic War Veterans for several years and attended Mass at Parish of Transfiguration.

   She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Deteen in 2005; her two brothers, Fernand Hebert and Normand Hebert and two sisters, Carmen Blakely and Lucile Hebert.

   Family members include her sons, James Fletcher and his wife, Annette, and Robert Fletcher and his wife, Audrey, all of Manchester and Frank W. Deteen Jr. of Cathedral, CA; daughters, Gail Jones and Linda Riggs of Greenville, OH and Janice Szumierz and her husband, Ken, of Bradenton, FL; a brother, Denis Hebert and his wife, Carol, of Manchester; 15 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and nieces and nephews

   A special thank you to the staff at Bel Air Nursing Home in Goffstown for the excellent care and love she received.  Also, a thank you to Access Hospice and the caring staff of Boston Medical Center where she spent her final days.

   Per her wishes there will be no funeral services.  A private celebration of her life will be at the convenience of the family.

   Donations in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

   Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.
