She was born December 29, 1914, in Elmhurst NY, and was the daughter of Bertha Hawkins.
She was a graduate of Newton Wellesley High School, and later from Mt. Holyoke College class of 1935. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She settled in Wellesley with her first husband Carl von der Lippe who died in 1960. For many years Inez worked as an interpreter of German for the C.H. Sprague & Son CO. She enjoyed traveling, and dancing, and had been to Germany.
Family members include one grandson, Christopher von der Lippe, of Manchester; 2 step children, Sally and Holly Lawrence, of MA; several cousins. She was predeceased by her second husband Don Lawrence, in 1985.
A funeral liturgy took place on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St. corner of North St. Manchester.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, 148 Brook St. Wellesley MA
