Irene J. (Fahie) Belanger, 74, of Manchester, died May 1, 2021 at the home of her daughter after a period of declining health surrounded by her family.

She was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada on June 5, 1946 to William and Irene (Lexner) Fahie.

She was educated in Nova Scotia, Canada and after graduating high school moved to Boston, MA where she was employed as an Au Pair. It was while in Boston she met her husband, Raymond, whom she was married to for 56 years.

Irene fulfilled her dreams of becoming a Registered Nurse and was the first graduating Associate Degree class from the Manchester Community College in 1986. She worked the majority of her nursing career at Maple Leaf Healthcare Center in Manchester where she held the title of Director of Nurses and at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown. Prior to her nursing career she worked many years with her husband running R & I Food Services.

Prior to her retirement she enjoyed traveling especially cruising with her husband and children. She was also an avid bingo player, enjoyed reading and most especially spending time with her family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond P. Belanger; twin daughters, Marie and Theresa Belanger; sister, Joan MacLean and brother Lorne Fahie.

She is survived by four daughters, Nicole Molan and her husband, Francis, of Milford, Celine Crete and her husband, Roger, Michelle Caron and her husband, Daryl and Paula Landeck and her husband, William all of Manchester; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Walker and her husband, George, and Willena MacLeod, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff of the VNA Home Health and Hospice for the loving care they provided for Irene.

SERVICES: A walk-through wake with masks, social distancing and limited interaction with the family is Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A funeral ceremony and burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester are private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Home Health & Hospice in Manchester.
