Irene E (Pink) Buhl (90) died peacefully at Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation & Nursing Center on November 17, 2025 where she had lived for the last 9 years.
Irene was born on April 25, 1935 in Lancaster, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Florence Pink, the middle of 9 children. She graduated from Alverno College in Milwaukee with a degree in Home Economics. She married Frank Buhl in 1958 and they had a long and very happy and interesting life together.
Irene was a woman of deep faith, love, humor, and style. She was a devoted wife, mom, mimi, and great-grandmother. Her home and table were always beautifully decorated for every holiday and she loved to entertain. She loved to golf and they were long-time members of the Manchester Country Club. They were active members of St Elizabeth Seton Church before moving into nursing care.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frank Buhl. She is survived by her daughter Jane Dunn and husband Russ Danson (Essex, VT), daughter Mary Ellen and husband Martin Bucknavage (State College, PA), son Mark and wife Kathy Buhl (Boylston, MA), son John and wife Maria Buhl (Wayne, PA); Grandchildren Tricia (Brian) Cunniff, Veronika (Matt) Bristol, Alex Bucknavage, Daniel Buhl, and Jacob Buhl; Great Grandchildren Emily and Luke Cunniff, and Thomas Bristol; and one sister, Sr Clare Pink; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to especially thank the wonderful staff on the 3rd floor of Mount Carmel Nursing Home who have taken such loving care of our mom for the past 9 years. You are all so appreciated!
A visiting hour will be held in the chapel at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in the chapel at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to your local food bank which was a priority for our parents.
