Irene C. Croteau

August 2, 1927 — October 29, 2012

Irene Claire (Ledoux) Croteau, 85, passed away peacefully on October 29th, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by many members of her loving family.

A life-long resident of Hooksett, she was born on August 2nd, 1927 to the late Albert and Angelina (Rousseau) Ledoux. She was educated in the local schools, attending Manchester Central High School. Prior to her retirement, she spent much of her years raising a family and working alongside her husband to run the family business, Modern Home Builders.

More than anything, Irene loved her family. She was committed to keeping the family ties tight, with many holiday gatherings, birthday parties, barbeques, dance recitals, cheer competitions, sporting events and the like attended over the years. Her dedication to family is something that she has instilled in all who will miss her dearly. She also enjoyed travel, gardening, sewing and cooking, with many of her recipes becoming family favorites. She will be remembered as a gracious, kind, strong-willed woman who spent a lifetime bringing happiness and love to all those who were blessed to have her in their lives.

Mrs. Croteau is predeceased by her beloved and only son, Robert B Croteau and her wonderful brother, Robert Ledoux.

In addition to her devoted husband of 66 years, Rosaire L Croteau, her family includes her loving daughter, Jo Ann Croteau of Hooksett; her sister Estelle (Ledoux) Cote of Hooksett; three grand-daughters: Nicole (Long) Wright of Wilton, Laurie (Sanfason) Wilder and Dawn (Croteau) Benoit, both of Hooksett; eight great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

A service was held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester. Urn burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
