Born in Bedford on November 2, 1932, she was the daughter of Albert and Marie (Jutras) Messier. She lived in Hooksett for more than 50 years.
She was married to Gerald M. Desrochers who died in 1982.
Mrs. Desrochers was a longtime communicant of St. Catherine Church in Manchester.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes three sons, Raymond Desrochers of Maine, Leonard Desrochers and his wife, Anne, of Manchester and Dennis Desrochers of Hooksett; a step son, Ronald Desrochers of Bedford; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several step grandchildren; two brothers, Andrew Messier and his wife, Anna, of Pittsfield, and Paul Messier and his wife, Beverly, of Londonderry; four sisters in law, Pat Messier of Manchester, Beverly Messier of Hooksett, Lorraine McNutt of Florida and Violet Therrien of Vermont; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends. She was predeceased by a step daughter, Judith Verrelli.
She will be deeply missed by all those lives she touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, May 4, 2009 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Graveside committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that a perennial be planted in memory of Irene.
