Irene L. Gravel

Irene L. Gravel, 86, of Manchester, died January 12, 2017, at Concord Regional VNA Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Hooksett, NH on January 24, 1930, the daughter of Napoleon and Auree (Abel) Belisle.

Irene attended Central High School in Manchester. She worked as a presser for Manchester Knitting Manufacturing for 50 years before retiring in 1995. She was an amazing seamstress and had a passion for gardening and baking. Irene was a very quiet person, was a good listener and a great advisor. She was a wonderful mother who loved her family. Above all she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Maurice P. "Moe" Gravel in June 2016.

The family includes ; twin daughters, Linda Dube and husband Yves of Manchester, and Lena Paquette and husband Paul of Manchester; one son, David Gravel and wife Denise of Webster; three grandchildren, Heather Ciampi of Manchester, Lisa Place and husband Ron of Goffstown, and Meagan Paquette of Damariscotta, ME; two great grandchildren, Norah and Bryan Place of Goffstown; four sisters, Yvonne Desrochers of Chester, Dorothy Dobroski of Hooksett, Lillian Parenteau of Manchester, and Lee Campbell of Hooksett; and two brothers, Leo and Roger Belisle both of Hooksett. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Suzanne Ciampi in 1988.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Anne / St. Augustin Church, 383 Beech St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
