Manchester

Irene M. Proulx, 83 of Manchester died November 12, 2024 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Manchester on March 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Myra (Langlois) Boucher. She was a graduate of Central High School, earned her nursing degree from Notre Dame School of Nursing, and her Masters degree in public health from Springfield College. Irene worked as a nurse for Notre Dame Hospital, now CMC, for the majority of her career. She later worked as a nurse with the Manchester School System and as refugee coordinator for the City of Manchester Public Health Department before retiring in 1999. She was a lifelong resident of the Queen City.

Irene loved traveling and cruising with her husband Richard. She also enjoyed time spent kayaking with her sister Claudette. You could often find Irene riding her trike, line dancing at the Cashin Senior Center or enjoying breakfast or lunch with The Nightingales, a community of retired nurses of CMC. Time spent with family was what meant the most to Irene, especially with her children and grandchildren, and her fur baby, Mindy. Above all else, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Richard T. Proulx, in 2011.
