Irene G. Marchand

Irene G. Marchand, 92, of Georgetown, TX, formerly of Manchester, died January 26, 2023 peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Manchester on August 17, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Gagnon) Proulx.  She was educated in Manchester and was a graduate of Manchester High School West.  She worked for many years in the service industry before retiring in 1990.

Irene loved to dance.  She also enjoyed traveling in her motor home with her late husband during retirement.  She was larger than life itself and a very social person.  Time spent with family and friends was truly what she enjoyed most.  Above all else, she will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Arthur (Pee Wee) R. Marchand in 2006.

Surviving family members include her three daughters, Patricia Cole and husband Craig of Manchester, Diane DuPont Foreman and husband Michael of Hawaii, and Elaine Douville and husband Roger of Texas; five grandchildren, Melissa Cole, Stephanie Moore, Jeff DuPont, Tom DuPont, and Brittany Douville; five great grandchildren, Madison, Cameron, Harper, Hope Irene, and Embry; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was also predeceased by both parents and her six siblings.

A small Celebration of Life took place at The Oaks Gracious Retirement Center in Georgetown, TX where she resided for the past two a half years.  A formal Service of Remembrance for Irene will take place on Thursday, February  16, 2023 at 10am at The Parish of Transfiguration 305 Kelley St. Manchester, NH 03102.
