Irene M. (Duval) Martineau, 63, of Wolfeboro, NH, formerly of Manchester, died after long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Manchester on July 20, 1962, she was the daughter of Paul and Beatrice (Gagnon) Duval. Irene was a graduate of Manchester Central High School and earned her nursing degree from the CMC School of Nursing and BSN from Franklin Pierce University.

She spent most of her 37 years at the Catholic Medical Center’s Endoscopy Unit. She will be remembered as a dedicated and compassionate nurse.

She enjoyed the outdoors all year round and was an avid water skier. She also enjoyed alpine and nordic skiing. Irene enjoyed her workouts at the gym and always kept in great physical condition.

Irene was a dedicated mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who know and loved her.

She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Camille Charbonneau.

Family members include her husband of 41 years, Henry G. Martineau of Wolfeboro; two children, Michael Martineau and wife Molly of South Portland, ME, Camille Bailey and husband Kyle of Mooresville, NC; 6 grandchildren, Eleanor, Sal, and Henry Martineau, Skye, Colt and Brooke Bailey; 4 siblings, Elizabeth Alexander, Valerie Chames, Paul Duval and Jules Duval; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester. The funeral service will be Monday at 10 am in All Saints Church, 258 S. Main St, Wolfeboro. Burial will be at a later date.
