Irene Marie (Lavoie) Morency, 92, of Manchester, died September 5, 2018 at Bentley Commons in Bedford after a brief illness.
Irene was born on December 29, 1925 in Manchester, the daughter of Arthur and Adeline (Salvail) Lavoie.
She was predeceased by her siblings Maurice, Armand, Jeanne Ervin, Robert, and Paul.
Before WWII, she met Amedee G. Morency but they waited until after the war to marry. The nuptial occurred on April 25, 1946. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage until Amedee's passing in September of 1998.
The couple had 4 children, all living, daughters Pauline Desfosses of Manchester, Lorraine Dandurand of Goffstown; sons Raymond Morency and his wife Maureen of Nashua, and Gerald Morency and his wife Lucie of Milton; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Irene worked for many years at MKM in the Manchester millyard and Osram Sylvania in Manchester. She enjoyed shopping, bingo, as well as camping and traveling with her husband in their RV. She was a communicant of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Manchester.
A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, September 10, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 9 Saint Francis Way Litchfield, NH. Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
