Irene A. Provencher

Irene A. Provencher, 73, of Manchester, died April 11, 2013 at Elliot Hospital after a long illness.

She was born in Manchester on July 18, 1939 to Arthur and Lena (Collins) Provencher. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

She graduated from St. Marie High School, the New Hampshire Technical College and earned further credits at St. Anselm College.

Irene worked for Sanders Associates and later for the State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services for many years.

She was a member of the Columbietts, the Daughters of Isabella, the Red Hat Society and Parents Without Partners. She enjoyed stamping with friends, vacation cruises and summers at Lake Winnipesaukee.

The family includes two sons, Robert Laferriere and his wife, Kristen, and Trent Howard all of Boscawen; three grandchildren who were the loves of her life, Robert, Katelyn and Hannah; a sister, Arlene Sullivan and her husband, Albert, of Goffstown; her longtime companion, Phillip McDermott of Lakeport; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, April 15, 2013 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
