Irene J. Rheault

Irene J. (Lamontagne) Rheault, 89, of Manchester, NH, died September 10, 2007, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a brief illness.

She was born in Berlin, NH, July 30, 1918, the daughter of Alfred and Judith (Langlois) Lamontagne. She moved to Manchester in 1949.

She was educated at Rivier College in Nashua, NH, and Notre Dame College in Manchester. She worked 17 years as a teacher at Sacred Heart School in Manchester, NH. Before her retirement, she was in public school for 19 years in a special Chapter 1 Program, receiving outstanding service recognition in 1992, teaching at Gossler School, Beech Street School, and Northwest School in Manchester.

She was a member and third vice president of the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary where she received the President's Volunteer Service Award in 2005.

She was predeceased by her husband Lucien A. Rheault in 1974; four brothers, Laurier, Sylvio, Robert, and Albert Lamontagne; two sisters, Beatrice (Lamontagne) Perry and Rita (Lamontagne) Bilodeau.

Members of her family include two daughters, Claire St. Hilaire and her husband Richard of Hooksett, Claudette Dube and her husband David of Manchester; one brother, Roland Lamontagne of Gorham; five sisters, Lucille (Lamontagne) Morin of Berlin, Yvette (Lamontagne) Ladiha of Wickliffe, OH, Lorraine (Lamontagne) Poulin of Berlin, Jeannette (Lamontagne) Chalmers of Jupiter, FL, and Mary Jane Von Melker of Stuart, FL; four grandchildren, Matthew L. St. Hilaire, Sara E. St. Hilaire, Justine A. Dube, and Michelle R. Dube.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday September 15, 2007 in St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave, Manchester. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester
