Born in Manchester on November 19, 1916, she was the daughter of Ernest and Maria (Houle) Paquette.
She was a graduate of St. George High School and Hesser Business College. She lived in Manchester most of her life.
Mrs. Simard worked as a bookkeeper and office manager at the former Amoskeag Industries and at her father's auto dealership, Bill Motor Company. She later owned and operated Irene's Hair Styling and RRE Realty both in Manchester.
She was an active communicant of St. Anthony Church and was a member of the Sodality of St. Anne at that parish. She enjoyed traveling with the Association Canado Americaine and attending the Precious Blood Monastery.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes three children, Richard E. Simard and his wife, Robin of Bedford and Robert L. Simard and wife, Claire and Elaine T. Tickler and her husband, William all of Manchester; 10 grandchildren, Ken Simard, Linda Coulter, Debbie White, Robin Bartnicki, Sarah Grenier, Ryan Simard, Rhianna Simard, Richella Simard, Michael Grenier and Richard Simard Jr.; five great grandchildren, Kenneth Simard Jr., Larry Allard Jr., Lauren Bartnicki, Paige Simard and Ashlyn Bartnicki; two sisters, Beatrice Remillard and Therese Pepin both of Manchester and several niece and nephews. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday May 9, 2007 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
