Irene Turgeon SND

Born in Beverly, MA on August 23, 1934, she was the daughter of Ernest and Irene (Lebrun) Turgeon.

Sr. Turgeon entered the order of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1953. She served as a teacher and principal in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Prior to retiring in 2007, she was principal at St. John's Regional School in Concord, NH for 23 years.

She later volunteered at the office of the Diocese of Manchester and at the Parish of the Transfiguration in Manchester.

The family includes a sister, Sr. Bernadette Turgeon, SND of Manchester, NH; a brother, Rudy Turgeon of Newfield, ME; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, November 17, 2008 at Parish of the Transfiguration, 305 Kelley St., Manchester, NH. Committal prayers were at St. Mary's Cemetery, 29 Barker St., Lawrence, MA.
