Irene Yurksaitis

She was born in Manchester on April 16, 1927 to Frederick and Florida (Turgeon) Laplante. She lived most of her life in Seymour, CT before returning to New Hampshire.

Irene worked at Auto Swage in Shelton, CT for several years and had been a sacristan at St. Augustine Church in Seymour, CT. She was an avid reader.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond A. Yurksaitis in 2008: a brother, Frederick E. Laplante in 1985 and a sister, Sr. Therese Laplante in 2013.

The family includes a son, Matthew A. Yurksaitis and his wife, Anne, of Goldsboro, NC; eight grandchildren, Hannah, Kala, Stephanie, Sarah, Rose, Joseph, Jacob and Emily; a great grandchild, Izabella; three siblings, Pauline D'Orazio of Manchester, Marcelle Bennett of Naples, FL and John Laplante of Canterbury; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers were held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, 117 Mountain Road in Seymour, CT.
