Jacqueline (Broughton) Gianareles, 88, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, after a long illness. She was a caring, witty, and generous woman who made a lasting impression on all that she met. Jackie was predeceased by her loving husband, Peter, earlier this year.
She was born to W. Grafton and Ruth (Frame) Broughton on June 7, 1937, in Peabody Massachusetts. A graduate of St. Chretienne Academy in Salem, Massachusetts, Jackie was a life-long resident of Peabody. While Jackie worked various jobs throughout her life, her passion was her family.
Jackie was devoted to her family and friends and was known for her compassion, quick wit, and jokes. Whether she was lending a helping hand, supporting others in need, cooking up delicious meals for others, or sharing a perfectly timed joke, Jackie brought warmth and laughter to everyone she met. Jackie never hesitated to put others first and above all, her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Jackie brought unconditional love and treasured her time with family.
Jackie’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the lives she touched. Jackie and her husband, Peter Gianareles, will be laid to rest at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne MA.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Soterios Gianareles, her son, George S. Gianareles, her mother, Ruth (Frame) Broughton, father, W. Grafton Broughton, siblings,Winn Broughton, Janet Menici, and Theresa Tarenz.
Family members include her daughter, Antigone (Gianareles) McHugh and husband Tom; grandson, Peter McHugh; granddaughter, Patrice Gianareles; great-grandchildren, Vincenzo, George, Giovanni; brother-in-law: Nicholas Gianareles and wife Judy; brother, Henry Broughton.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
