Jacqueline Pounds (nee Dewey) was born May 30, 1934 and died September 22, 2023. She is survived by Jon her husband of 67 years and their 4 children: Theodore (wife Patty), Janet Maguire (husband Dan), Doug (wife Jackie) and Brad (wife Cheryl). She has 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Jaci was born in Akron, Ohio, the 6th of ten children. She graduated with a BA in fine arts and a teaching degree from Kent State University. She taught Art in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio until 1960 when she left teaching to raise their children full time. Jaci and her husband lived in Holliston Massachusetts until 1994. Once all 4 kids left home and Jon retired, they moved to Center Harbor where they lived 27years until more recently moving to Litchfield, NH.
Jaci had many joys and interests in life. She was active in politics, helping to run two successful campaigns for State Rep in Massachusetts. She used her talent in art to produce distinct posters for each candidate. Jaci also designed and printed the family Christmas card every year for 60 years recording each year’s family happenings and milestones. She was a lifelong learner and over the years was involved in a hotline, a bible study group and several esoteric study groups. She loved spending time with family and playing scrabble with her children and grandchildren. When not playing scrabble she always had a project going: sewing, redecorating, crafts, gardening and yard sales.
She instilled in each of us respect for honesty, integrity and the ability to stretch a dollar and she will be greatly missed by her family.
Our Jaci, A mate who was great, A mother like no other, Gifted in art, she gave it her heart, Committed to duty, was much of her beauty, A person, A wife, A mother, An artist, A citizen, We’ll ever miss you, We’ll ever love you, Our Jaci.
