James E. Cleary

James E. Cleary Jr., 69, of Bedford died August 16, 2003 at the Arbors of Bedford after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born in Cambridge, MA on January 9, 1934, he was the son of James E. and Helen (Sinclair) Cleary. He grew up in Marblehead then lived in Southboro, MA for many years. He later lived in Amherst, NH and then Bedford.

He was a graduate of Marblehead High School and the University of Vermont. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.

Mr. Cleary worked with Connecticut General Life Insurance Company in Worcester, MA for many years. He later became a partner with the Sadler Insurance Company in Nashua.

The family includes his wife of 45 years, Jane (Carlough) Cleary of Bedford; three children, Jennifer L. Kelley of Stamford, CT, Jay E. Cleary of Littleton, CO and Jean Marie Schelb of Monterey, CA; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was Wednesday August 20, 2003 in Grace Episcopal Church, 106 Lowell St., Manchester, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, New Hampshire Chapter, 10 Ferry St., Suite 419, Concord, NH 03301.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester assisted the family with arrangements.
