James Collins

James Collins Sr. 67, of Bedford, died February 12, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua following a period of declining health.

He was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 3, 1947 to William and Mary Collins. He grew up in Bridgeport and attended Fairfield Prep High School where he earned a basketball scholarship to attend Sacred Heart University. He set many school records, some that stand to this day.

Prior to retirement he worked many years for Hart Supply Co. as National Sales Manager.

James was a great husband, father and grandfather and had a passion for sports. He will be sorely missed.

Family members include his beloved wife of 47 years, Bonnie Collins of Bedford; two daughters, Dawn O'Loughlin and her longtime companion, William Carey of Milford; Kristine Wright and her husband, Nicholas, of New Boston; two sons, James Collins Jr. and his girlfriend, Nicole Poulin, of Bedford; William Collins and his wife, Regina, of Bedford; six grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Henry, Olivia, Ava, and Sophia.

A Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Rd., Merrimack.
