James J. Cote

James J. Cote Sr., 67, of Tamworth, NH died April 25, 2002 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, NH after a brief illness.

Born in Lowell, MA on December 21, 1934, he was the son of George and Agnes (Sullivan) Cote. He lived in Bedford, NH for many years before moving to Tamworth six years ago.

In the late 1950's he served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Cote worked for many years with Dunfey Management which later became Omni Hotels. He had managed the former Carpenter Hotel in Manchester, NH and the Sheraton Wayfarer in Bedford, NH. He retired in 1991.

He had been active in youth athletics in Manchester and Bedford.

The family includes six children, Kim Cote Noyes of Tamworth, NH, Suzanne Cote of Manchester, NH, James J. Cote Jr. of Tamworth, NH, Christopher Cote of Goffstown, NH, Michael Cote of Bedford, NH and Kellie Cote Goodson of Richardson, TX; three grandchildren; his mother of North Billerica, MA; three brothers, Paul Cote of Chelmsford, MA and Gerald Cote and Richard Cote both of Lowell, MA; several nieces and nephews; his former wife, Winnie Cote of Goffstown, NH.

A memorial reception was Monday April 29, 2002 in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester, NH.
