James E. Gallant, 84, of Manchester died February 6, 2016 at a local healthcare facility after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on March 7, 1931, he was the son of Leon and Eglantine (Manseau) Gallant. He served four years in the US Army before his honorable discharge in 1960.
Prior to retirement, he had worked as a manager for Travelers Insurance Company for many years.
He was a member of the American Legion, Henry J. Sweeney Post #2 and will be remembered as a friendly and generous man who will be missed by all who knew him.
Family members include his sister, Margaret Gunzelman of Manchester; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
