Mr. James (Jim) F. Hall, Sr. of Manchester, NH recently passed away unexpectedly at his home.
Jim was the eldest of three children born to Sterling J. and Shirley E. (Sewell) Hall on April 18, 1945, in Houlton, ME. The entire family traveled the globe while Sterling served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, including 2 tours in Germany.
Jim graduated from Crosby High School in Waterbury, CT and began a career at Trailways in Boston. Jim honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1968, including a tour in Teheran, Iran from 1966-1968 as a member of the Topographical Training Team. Jim worked at Moore Business Forms before joining Raytheon and retiring in 2010.
Jim is survived by his son, James Hall, Jr. and wife Julie of Auburn, NH; his daughter, Promise Lawrence and husband Adam of Goffstown, NH; three grandchildren, Colby Hall of Auburn, and Ryder and Peyton Lawrence of Goffstown; his sister, Cheryl (Hall) George and husband R. James George, Jr. of Austin, TX; and former wife of 30 years, Rose Mary (Stull). He was predeceased by his mother, father, and sister, Barbara Snyder.
Jim had a passion for fishing, reading, watching baseball, basketball and football. He also loved history and trivia, and enjoyed Jeopardy. We are going to miss his expertise at growing tomatoes. He had a dry, wonderful sense of humor, but above all, will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.
