James M. Tullis

James M. Tullis, 81 of Londonderry, died May 12, 2024, at the Arbors of Bedford, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born in Miami, FL on July 5, 1942 he was the son of the late James Harrison Tullis and Helen Mae Marks.  Jim was educated in Miami, Portland State College and received Associates degrees in Applied Science from Capital Institute of Technology, and from New Hampshire Technical Institute in Engineering Technology with a Major in Architectural Engineering.   He served in the US Air Force for 4 years before being honorably discharged in 1966. He then went on to obtain his pilot’s license, become a flight instructor and private pilot. 

 During his career, he sold insurance and commodities, worked for various architects, drew plans for many different homes, furniture and projects for anyone who needed him.

Jim was extremely creative.  He had a passion for woodworking, architecture, building and design.  He even redesigned his and his wife, Barbara’s, Lake home in Franklin.  Jim loved animals, especially his three cats, but especially loved his family.  Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Family includes his wife of 30 years, Barbara L. (Rosenfield) (Tolpin) Tullis of Londonderry; three children, Steven Tullis and wife Sheryl of Washington, Michael Tullis and wife Katrina of Washington and Mary Johnson and husband Mike of California; Barbara’s two children, Alyssa Miller and husband Chris of Illinois son Greg Tolpin and wife Christina of Florida and her daughter-in-law, Lori Tolpin of Maine; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild;  Jim was predeceased by both parents; his daughter Patty Venters; 2 brothers and 2 sisters  and Barbara’s son, Joseph Tolpin.

SERVICES:   A graveside service will take place at 12pm on Monday, May 20th at the Hebrew Cemetery, S. Beech St., Manchester, NH 03103.    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to:  Bayada NH Home Health Care and Hospice, 23 Amherst St., Ste. 216, Nashua, NH 03060, or the Hospice of your choice.
