James A. “Jamie” Doucet, 53, of Manchester, passed away on November 13, 2024, after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on January 7, 1971, he was the beloved son of Normand J. and Lorraine (Pare) Doucet. Jamie attended Memorial High School until 1992 and participated in the Moore Center day program for nearly 20 years. He dedicated 19 years of his life as a food attendant at Wendy’s before retiring in 2006. Jamie was also a communicant at Saint Patrick’s Church in Manchester, NH.
A vibrant soul, Jamie was the only male member of his family who never missed an opportunity to hit the dance floor. His annual highlights included attending Camp Fatima and Camp Allen, as well as participating in Special Olympics track and field and basketball events. Jamie had a passion for sports, wrestling, and the soap opera General Hospital, often found flipping through magazines, especially those featuring his favorite shows. Few enjoyed a Super Bowl party as much as he did, relishing pizza and French fries with his parents.
Known for his friendly and outgoing nature, Jamie had a quick smile and was a friend to everyone he met. He is survived by his parents, Normand and Lorraine Doucet of Manchester; his brothers, Joseph Doucet and wife Mary-Elizabeth, Marc Doucet and wife Liza, John Doucet and wife Meghan Lynch; along with many nieces, nephews, and their families. In his later years, he was fortunate to live with caregivers Chhahtra Gurung and her family, and Mary Wahome and her family, whose warmth and kindness provided Jamie with love and support that were foundational to his happiness.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, at noon at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester. Burial will follow at NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jamie’s memory to support either Easter Seals of NH, 555 Auburn St, Manchester, NH 03103, or Moore Center Services, 195 McGregor St, Suite 400, Manchester, NH 03102.
