Janet L. (Rondeau) Gilbert, 64, of Manchester, died March 8, 2016 at Elliot Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Exeter on September 17, 1951 to Oswald and Laurette (Champagne) Rondeau. She lived in Suncook during her early years, then in Manchester for most of her life. She earned a bachelor's degree from Notre Dame College.
Janet worked at Southern New Hampshire Services in Manchester for nearly 20 years. She volunteered at bingo at the Boys and Girls Club of Manchester and had served on the planning committee for Riverfest for many years.
She enjoyed time spent with her family and will be remembered for her caring nature and for being a mother figure to many.
She was predeceased by a son, Joseph M. Gilbert.
The family includes her husband, John "Jack" Gilbert of Manchester; two daughters, JoAnn Smith and her husband, Jeffrey, and Jocelyn Mahoney and her husband, Sean, all of Manchester; three grandchildren, Justin Smith, Janelle Smith and Jeffrey Smith-Demers; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony was held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester.
