Janet Ladieu

Hooksett, NH

   Janet (Cousins) Ladieu, 78, of Hooksett, passed away on December 23, 2022, at Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord with her family by her side.

   She was born in Laconia on September 20, 1944, to William and Eleanor (Andrews) Cousins. She lived in Gilmanton and later moved to Laconia, where she attended Laconia High School.  

   Jan met Bill, her husband, in 1963 when they were both working at Irwin Motors. They married in 1964 and were proudly together for 52 years. In 1973, Jan and Bill moved to Hooksett with their three children, where she would spend the next 50 years. During that time, Jan worked at Target, Merchant Motors for many years, Ferdinando Insurance, and S.A.U. 15.

   Jan was known for being an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed preparing meals and hosting family get-togethers for the holidays. She also enjoyed reading, puzzles, knitting, crocheting and traveling with her husband, Bill, in their motorhome.

   Jan will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, devoted grandmother, sister, and loyal friend.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, who passed away in 2016 and her sister, Grace, who passed away in 2021.

   Jan is survived by her three children, Scott Ladieu and his wife, Martha, of Hooksett, Cheryl Kalns and her partner, Paul Basiliere, of Goffstown and Susan Raymond of Midvale, Utah; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Laura, Alison, and Jake; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Tyler; and cousins.

   There are no calling hours. Burial will be in the spring at Smith Meetinghouse Cemetery in Gilmanton at a time to be announced.

   Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, is assisting the family with arrangements.  Return to this obituary in the spring of 2023 for an update on the burial date.
