Manchester

Janice Grace Bieniek, 92, of Manchester, passed away August 22, 2023 at Villa Crest Nursing Home after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Manchester on October 16, 1930, Janice was the daughter of the late Roger and Grace (Danielson) Lagerquist.  Following graduation from Central High School she married John Bieniek of Manchester and dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family at their home on Broadway Avenue in Manchester.

Janice enjoyed sewing, cooking and crafting. She loved family gatherings and spending time at the beach.  She also loved travel – especially her trip to Ireland and several cruises with friends. Later in life, Janice reconnected with old friends and served on the planning committee for reunions of her high school graduating class. Janice had a great sense of humor – she loved a quick comeback. Above all else she loved her family and will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Janice was predeceased by her husband, John P. Bieniek in 1988.

Surviving family members include six children, Donna McLaughlin and husband Albert of Austin, TX, Kathy Lagos and husband George of Bow, Jody Baroody and husband Joseph of Manchester, Sharon Chandler of Dunbarton, Carol Laszewski of Bedford and John P. Bieniek, Jr. and wife Claire of Layton, UT; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Lagerquist, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by both parents; two brothers, Roger “Sonny” Lagerquist and Donald Lagerquist; and son-in-law Douglas Chandler.
