Jayson J. Martin, 45, of Manchester NH, died on December 30th, 2021, after succumbing to a lengthy illness.
Born on October 17th, 1976, he was a graduate of Manchester West High School class of 1995, followed by an Associate's degree in Graphic Design from the University of NH.
Jayson was passionate for; nature, the arts, music, snowboarding, mountain biking, Jeep wranglers and martial arts. His dream to live in Colorado came true in 2006 when he moved to Estes Park, working for the Rocky Mountain national park system. Shortly after, Jayson moved to Steamboat Springs Colorado and became a snowboard instructor and security guard at the hospital. A very talented artist, he won many awards for his work, including his famed comic strip, "Way up North" which was published in multiple papers across NH. Jayson's comic was embraced by the Steamboat Springs, CO community where his iconic character Miles, could be found at the top of the Morningside chairlift on the weather board welcoming skiers to the summit of Storm Peak, CO. Jayson was a dedicated fan of the band Pearl Jam, displayed by a vanity license plate: Evnflo (Even Flow) as well as the Stickman tattoo on his right shoulder. Some accomplishments in his life include; 1st chair trumpet Jazz band, black belt in Karate, completing the 24 hrs of Great Glenn mountain bike race to raise money for charity and Reiki practitioner level II.
He will be deeply missed, and now, he is at rest and in peace. His ashes will be spread in Yampa Valley at the summit of Storm Peak, Steamboat Springs, CO via the Morningside lift, March of 2022, where Jayson always believed he would once return. His brother, Jonathan, will have the honor of spreading his ashes into the winds of the Rocky Mountains where he and Jayson spent many months together traveling, seeking outdoor adventure.
Jay is survived by his parents, Ronald and Madeleine Martin; brother Jonathan; niece, Lindsey; nephew, Blake; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his devoted friends. He was predeceased by his younger sister, Jennifer Martin.
There will be no formal services. Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
