Jean “John” Fraser 75, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Elliot Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after fighting a courageous battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.

John was born on October 22, 1947 in Manchester, NH, son to the late Alcide and Annette (Lavasseur) Fraser. He was a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School , Class of 1966 and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. To complete his working years, John went on to work for Sheehan Phinney, for over 30 years, retiring in August 2021.

John took great pride in maintaining his property and could be often found in his yard getting his hands dirty, digging out a hill or tending to the garden. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and loved the Star Wars movies. Some of his favorite memories were those spent traveling with his wife to Alaska, Italy, Disney, Las Vegas and Mohegan Sun.

Above all else, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his family at any of the events they participated in. He took great pride and joy in the times he got to spend with family, as family is what was most important always.  If an opportunity presented itself, for John to brag about his children or  grandchildren, he took it.  He was so proud of each and every one of them, which was evident by how highly he spoke of each of them. In honor of John and his favorite color, please feel free to wear something purple.

Throughout this brief battle, the folks treating him became family for him. A huge thank you to some special people at the Solinsky Cancer Center, in Manchester, NH.  His birthday twin Sophia, put a smile on his face daily, always ready to check him in and crack some jokes.  John looked forward to seeing the nurses Liz and Felicia, as well as Heidi and Stephanie. Melissa was amazing, always checking to see how John was and if he needed anything, providing excellent support to the family.  Thank you for everything!  Also a big thank you to Candia Fire & Rescue, for all of your help, throughout the past four months.

John is lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Joanne (Langille) Fraser; Son, Darrell Fraser of Lebanon, ME; Daughter, Lori Ann(Robert) Pierce, of Raymond, NH. Six grandsons: Riley (fiancé Sarah), Justin (wife Stephanie), Joshua, Drew, Connor and Mason. Great-granddaughter, Lylah.
