Jean (John) L. Desrochers passed away March 8, 2017 from complications of COPD.
He was born in Manchester, the son of Rita J. (Lemire) Desrochers and Gerard T. Desrochers.
He attended local schools and lived in Manchester all his life. He started his working career with his father as an apprentice electrician and became a master electrician. He owned and operated Desrochers Electric, Inc. and Desrochers Power Systems, LLC for 30 years until his retirement in 2011.
He was a past Safety Officer and President of West Junior Soccer League. He was also a volunteer for twenty-one years for the West High School Music Supporters as a Ways and Means Co-Chair, Vice President and President and more importantly a concerned parent.
John was afflicted with Tourette's Syndrome from an early age. With treatment, he was able to marry, help raise a family and run a successful business. Obstacles can be overcome with the help of a loving family and determination.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cecile C. (Dionne) Desrochers. His four children, Jaclyn M. Desrochers and her companion, Derrick Rogers of Manchester, NH, Lynn A. and her husband Bart Bemis of Deerfield, NH, John P. (Jay) Desrochers and his companion Katya Maiser and her son Kurt of Holden, MA, Brian S. Desrochers and his companion Jennifer Brooks of Manchester, NH, two grandsons Camden and Troy Bemis. Two sisters, Mrs. Norman (Joyce) Champagne of Manchester, NH Mrs. Ronald (Lyanne) Gauvin of Hooksett, NH and a brother Gerard R. Desrochers and his wife Judy of Hampton, NH.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Denise Sullivan, brother-in-law Joseph Sullivan and a niece Jennifer Sullivan.
John wanted to thank the members of the local rock band WHO KNOWS WHAT for allowing him to sit in and play drums with them for several years. Thank you, guys, I love you all.
John also wanted to thank the staff at CMC for his care and comfort, Dr. Richard Read, MD of DHMC Pulmonary Dept. for his compassion and care and Rob and Marion of the Elliot Pulmonary maintenance program and to all my friends at the Elliot Pulmonary morning workout group, the "heavy breathers."
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday March 13, 2017 at Parish of the Transfiguration. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.
