She was born in Nashua on April 19, 1927 to Dominique and Alma (Ouellette) Caron. She netered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1944 and made her final profession in 1951. She served the Congregation for 70 years.
Sr. Jeannette taught first grade for 48 years in the schools of Ontario, Canada, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. She also tutored many students and was involved in preparing pageants for many occasions and preparing students for the reception of the sacraments. Besides being an excellent and devoted teacher, she also excelled in cooking and sewing.
In retirement, Sr. Jeannette volunteered at the Chancery Office of the Diocese of Manchester for 17 years and at Beech Street School in the Title 1 library for nine years.
The family includes a brother, Andre Caron of Nashua and three sisters, Sr. Georgette Caron, CSC of Manchester, Fernande Lavoie of Nashua and Lucienne Vaillancourt of Litchfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in the chapel at St. George Manor. Burial was in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of Holy Cross Development Fund and sent to Sisters of Holy Cross, 377 Island Pond Rd., Manchester, NH 03109.
