Manchester, NH

Jeannine M. Simoneau, 93, of Manchester died October 9, 2022 after a period of declining health.

Born August 4th 1929, she was the daughter of Henri Legault & Adrienne (Lefevre) Legault.  She grew up on a farm north of Montreal Canada. At roughly age 3 she became ill with Spinal Meningitis and as a result, lost her hearing.  She went on to graduate from the Montreal School for the Deaf.

Her husband Reginald (Reggie) Simoneau, who passed away November 18, 2018, first met Jeannine when he was on a trip visiting friends in Canada.  They married June 27th, 1953.

Jeannine loved to cook and bake.  She always had something amazing on the stove or in the oven.  The kids would always fight over who would get the leftovers.  Sweet treats were a staple in her kitchen. The neighborhood children always knew where they could go for a delicious baked good.  Her passion was to draw. She was an amazing artist. She loved covered bridges, seascapes and sunsets. Only a  few lucky ones have been blessed with one of her beautiful paintings.  She will be remembered for being a kind soul, a loving person and for her strong faith in God.  Jeannine always prayed for her family and friends. Despite her disability, she always knew what was going on and what needed to be done.

Jeannine is survived by her children Francince Lafond & her partner Carol Lamoureux, Denise Simoneau, Michael Simoneau & his partner Doris St. Pierre, and Gisele Bussiere & her husband Michael; her grandchildren Norman Lafond Jr., Jonathan Simoneau, Chelsey Simoneau, Andrew White, and Alexander White; her great-grandchildren Adam, Harper & Hailey Lafond; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brother Jacques Legault.
