Joan E. (Pinciaro) Bowman, 91, of Manchester passed away peacefully on October 24th at Hanover Hill Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
Joan was the daughter of the late John E. and Margaret (Parks) Pinciaro. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 67 years, J. Robert "Bob" Bowman in 2018; beloved daughter, Roberta J. Demers in 2002, and sister, Ilene Debski of Boise, Idaho in 2017 with whom she shared a close and loving bond that lasted a lifetime.
Born in Steubenville, OH on April 17, 1930, she and her family relocated to Manchester in the early 1940's. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School for Girls, Class of 1949. Joan was a class officer and voted "Class Artist." She formed many lifelong friendships among her classmates and continued to work on their annual class reunions well into her late 80s.
During her high school years, she met her future husband and the love of her life, Bob Bowman. They were married in 1950 and devoted their lives to creating a close and loving family. They enjoyed a happy marriage and were inseparable.
Joan was a devoted mother and loved raising her three daughters, however, she equally enjoyed a close bond with her five grandsons, who affectionately knew her as "Memaw."
One of the great joys of the Bowmans' life together was boating on New Hampshire lakes with their family where they could be found on weekends and vacations. They instilled a love of all things New Hampshire including the White Mountains, Seacoast and backroads. Her favorite times were the holidays spent with her family. Many of these were unique like Kroppkakor Day, which is still enjoyed by several generations of Bowmans. She had a deep interest in history, particularly World War II, and was detailed in her research and documentation of family ancestry. She chose to work in the business sector where her organizational skills and attention to detail ensured her success in the accounting field where she was employed by various businesses in the Manchester area.
Surviving family members include two daughters, Susan DiCroce and husband John of Manchester, Lisa Bowman and husband Paul Reid of Sugar Hill; five grandsons, Michael Demers and wife Erica of Manchester, Jeffrey Demers and wife Kristen of Bradford, MA, Jake DiCroce and wife Christina of Westford, MA, Alex Reid and wife Lauren of Hopkinton and Chris DiCroce and wife Elizabeth of Manchester; eight great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Addyson, Maxwell, Alexander, Bo, Christopher, Michaela and John William; two brothers, John (Jack) Pinciaro of Deerfield and Bob Pinciaro of Cumberland, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Joan will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many. Her work ethic, kindness, creativity, and caring spirit along with her ability to find humor in most everything is her legacy.
