 Joan Leddy Kenney, born in Epping NH on September 11, 1928 to John Smyth Leddy and Victorine Dion Leddy, peacefully departed this world on May 26, 2024 at the age of 95. Joan leaves behind a legacy of love and family devotion and community service that will continue to inspire all who knew her. 

 She is predeceased by her parents and her siblings, John S. Leddy III, Thomas Leddy, Constance Hayes, Mary Olive Jacobs and James Leddy. Joan, the wife of the late Joseph Francis Kenney, who went home to the Lord in 1997, now joins her beloved husband along with their loving son, Joseph P. Kenney and cherished grandchildren, Brianna Kenney, Evan Kenney and Connor Kenney.

 Joan is survived by her devoted brother, Joseph Leddy and loving sisters, Mary Margaret Kelly and Michaela Castaldi. Joan’s memory will forever be treasured by her surviving children, Bridget Kenney Kelman, Ret. Captain, Mary Kim Kenney-Gutshall, USN, Joan Kenney Fitzgerald and Sean Joseph Kenney, along with their spouses. Joan’s legacy extends to her eight surviving grandchildren, Alina Crews, Chelsey Belz, Briley Kenney, Brenna Fitzgerald, Grace Loney, Justin Kenney, Santina Kenney, Sydney Kenney and spouses and seven great grandchildren, each of whom were a source of immense pride and joy. She embraced each moment with them, instilling in them the virtues of kindness, love and strength. Joan leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and grand and great grand nieces and nephews and cousins.

 Starting from an early age, Joan demonstrated a strong spirit and kind heart, helping her parents with siblings and working in the family’s farm and general store. She went on to further her entrepreneurial and professional career, co-owning with her husband, Kenney Appraisal Associates in Manchester NH, rising to achieve the Senior Residential Appraiser credential and become President of the NH Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers. She was an avid golfer and upon retirement in Florida and Georgia, she was involved in her parish music, eucharistic and outreach ministries.

 SERVICES: A memorial Mass, officiated by Fr. David Gagnon, will be held at St. Joseph Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, NH at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Burial services will follow at the Leddy-Thayer Cemetery, 41 Leddy Drive, Epping, NH. A reception to celebrate Joan’s life will be held immediately thereafter in Manchester NH.

 Living through the great depression, World War II, and Global Pandemic, Joan learned and applied the virtues and importance of compassion, sacrifice and charity. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her name to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, (ssvpusa.org) and/or Habitat for Humanity (habitat.org)in honor of Joan’s lifelong dedication to housing and food security.

 Joan Leddy Kenney will be remembered for her grace, her unwavering faith and the profound impact she had on everyone she encountered. Joan’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. May she rest in eternal peace.
