Joan K. (LaPlante) Martin

Joan Karen (LaPlante) Martin, 77, of Bedford, NH died July 3, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Concord, NH on January 20, 1944, she was the daughter of Eugene and Victoria (Prokopik) LaPlante. She attended St. John High School in Concord and earned her nursing degree from the Sacred Heart School of Nursing.
She had worked as a cardiac nurse at Massachusetts's General Hospital for 35 years.
Joan enjoyed cooking, gardening, entertaining, shopping and wintering in Pawley's Island, but most of all she loved spending time with friends and family.
Family members include her husband of 53 years, Richard Martin of Bedford; her daughter, Michele Fremault and husband Ronnie of Westford, MA; her son, Robb Martin and wife Dawn of Wrentham, MA; her grandchildren, Luke, Raegan, and Mia Fremault and William, Connor, and Ethan Martin; her brother, James LaPlante and several cousins. Joan leaves many dear friends both in NH and SC that meant the world to her.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 7th at 11 am at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, 190 Meetinghouse Road, Bedford, NH 03110.
