Joanne Ellen (O'Brien) North, 87 died peacefully with her family by her side.
Born in Dover, NH on February 13, 1930, she was the youngest daughter of Owen and Ella (Hartigan) O'Brien. She was a graduate of Dover High School and Sacred Heart School of Nursing, where she started her nursing career, and later at Catholic Medical Center, until her retirement in 1995.
Joanne loved the beach and vacationed many years at "Happy Hampton" with her late husband Jack. She was most proud of her Irish heritage and love listening to Celtic music with her family and friends.
She will be always remembered by her faith and love in God, and family, and friends.
Joanne was predeceased by her beloved husband John "Jack" North, Jr. in 2008.
Her family includes a daughter Mary Louise (North) Dery and husband Paul of Manchester; two grandchildren, Michael Dery of Manchester, and Brittany (Dery) Dunn and husband Bryan of Manchester; a sister, Eleanor Duffy and husband Bernie of Dover; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Edmund and Matthew; as well as two sisters, Mary and Louise who brought Joanne up as their own.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St., Manchester. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
