Joanne Hughes

She was born in Dover, NH and resided in Manchester for most of her life. She is the daughter of the late James & Marion Myers of Manchester.

She was educated in the Dover & Manchester school systems, graduating from St. Joseph's High School for Girls class of 1951.

She was employed by the City of Manchester in the Retirement System.

She was married to the late Robert Hughes, and they had 2 children Michael & Patricia who predeceased her as well as her siblings Cecelia O'Neil, Nancy Slater, Theresa Stewart & Paul Myers. She is survived by her sister Kathleen Perkins of Manchester; her brother James Myers of Dover; and her aunts Dorothy Tapscott of Somersworth and Eileen Cole of Dover.

Joanne enjoyed retirement years gardening, socializing with her circle of friends including those from the LAOH, and spending time with the extended families; O'Neils, Perkins, Myers, Slaters, Stewarts and Hughes.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Bedford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care over the last 2 years.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Anthony Church.

A burial will take place at a later date in Dover.
