Joanne Shevlin, 64, of Manchester died unexpectedly May 30, 2017 at her residence.
Born in Flushing, NY on June 16, 1952, she was the daughter of Edward and Adelaide (Greene) Shevlin. She was a graduate of St. Michael Academy, Manhattan, and earned her Associate's Degree at St. Joseph College, VT. She then went on to nursing School, earning her LPN license. Joanne worked for many years at Holy Cross Health Care Center and prior to retirement, worked as an LPN at Bedford Hills Center.
In 2016 Joanne lived her Cursillo. She served as a Lector and Eucharist Minister at St. Francis of Assisi, and was a member of the Ladies Guild for many years. She was an active parishioner of St. Catherine Church, taught CCD, organized holiday fairs, and participated in many bible studies. She was also a Third Order Secular Franciscan. Joanne was an avid reader. She devoted her life to religion, her family, and her extended family. She was the primary caregiver to her mother in the final years of her life as well. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, and friend.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 9 Saint Francis Way, Litchfield, NH 03052. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
