John B. "Jack" Fetko, Jr., 77, of Manchester, died June 1, 2016 at his home after a sudden illness.
He was born in Suffield, CT on March 20, 1939 to John B. Fetko Sr. and Mary (Rague) Fetko.
Jack served in the U.S. Army for 22 years and was discharged at the rank of master sergeant. He then was a public affairs officer and head recruiter for the Army in Brunswick, ME for many years. He later worked at Blessed Sacrament Church and assisted in the care of his granddaughter, Olivia.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed polka music and flea markets and will be remembered as a giving person with a good sense of humor.
He was predeceased by the love of his life of 56 years, Edeltraud (Mang) Fetko in 2015; a daughter, Kathleen M. Fetko and two siblings, Robert Fetko and Patsy Edwards.
The family includes four children, John B. Fetko III and his wife, Martha, of Twin Mountain, Jeffrey A. Fetko of Manchester, Eric A. Fetko and his wife, Sanja, of Lucern, Switzerland and Joyce K. Foskin and her husband, Ron, of Manchester; six grandchildren, John B. Fetko IV, Christopher Fetko, Matthew Fetko, Kimberley Fetko, Devin Fetko and Olivia Foskin; a great grandchild, Logan Fetko; two siblings, Mitzi Annis of Enfield, CT and Peggy McKay and her husband, Steven, of Pembroke; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
