John E. Bimbris Sr., 89, of Manchester, died March 9, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Manchester on April 16, 1921, the son of Balislof and Josephine (Toskaska) Bimbris. He was educated in the local school system and was a WWII US Army Veteran. He served in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters prior to his honorable discharge in December of 1945.
Prior to retirement, John had worked at Waumbec Mills for 32 years and also worked for 20 years at a local parking garage.
John was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Family members include his wife of 66 years, Bernadette M. (McGarrigle) Bimbis of Manchester; his children, John Bimbris Jr. and Stephen Bimbris, both of Manchester and Ellen Messerschmidt of Hooksett; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in St. Hedwig Church, Beech St, Manchester. Committal prayers and military honors were accorded at the Shaw Memorial Chapel at the New St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St, Bedford.
