He was born in the county of Durham in England on July 27, 1940 to John J. and Rhoda (Lamb) Burnikell. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1967 and lived in Hooksett for many years.
He served in the British Army with the Durham Light Infantry.
Mr. Burnikell worked as a tool and dye maker with General Electric for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, history, astronomy and minerals and was an avid collector of related artifacts.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
The family includes his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth (Wallace) Burnikell of Hooksett; two children, Denise Dalaker of New Boston and Ian Burnikell of Derry; four grandchildren, Gage Dalaker, Evan Dalaker, Amy Dalaker and Sarah Burnikell; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
