John J. "Jack" Collins Jr., 57, of Manchester, NH died May 13, 2002 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester after a sudden illness.

Born in Lake Forest, IL on July 7, 1944, he was the son of John J. and Regina (Manion) Collins Sr.. He has lived in Manchester since 1978.

During the Vietnam War he served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He later graduated from the University of Lowell in Lowell, MA

Mr. Collins worked as a stockbroker with Smith-Barney in Manchester for many years.

He was a member of the Concord (NH) Country Club, the YMCA in Manchester and Edgcomb Tennis Club in Kennebunk, ME.

The family includes his wife of 18 years, Lori (Ferretti) Collins of Manchester; five sons, Jay Collins of Manchester, Garrett Collins of Portsmouth, NH, and Joseph F. Collins, Samuel J. Collins and Anthony J. Collins all of Manchester; five grandchildren; his mother of Marblehead, MA; four brothers, Peter A. Collins of Stockton, CA, James Collins of Shrewsbury, MA, Daniel Collins of Worcester, MA and Patrick Collins of Salem, MA; two sisters, Annie R. Collins of Marblehead, MA and Mary Maghan of Stockton, CA; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated May 16, 2002 in St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester, NH. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford, NH.
