Born in Manchester, NH on November 11, 1934, he was the son of John Aloyisius and Mary (Riordan) Duffy.
Mr. Duffy resided in Auburn most of his life and was educated in the local school system and attended NH College. He served in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Prairie AD-15 during the Korean War and on the U.S.S. Consolation AH-15 during Operation "passage to freedom" in Vietnam in 1954. He was awarded the Korean service medal and the China service medal for duty in the Formosa Straits.
Mr. Duffy was employed for 32 years by Almy Stores of Brighton, MA, the parent company of Leavitts of Manchester, NH where he started his career in 1958. He served as General Manager and Regional Sales Supervisor for stores in New England and New York.
He was a loving and caring husband and father to his stepsons Will and Bob. He enjoyed skiing, fishing, camping, and baseball.
Mr. Duffy was predeceased by his wife Esther Poulos of 49 years and two sisters, Dorothy Barrett of Bedford, NH and Mary Klimek of Middletown, NJ.
He is survived by his longtime partner Dianne Linda Robert; step-sons, William and Robert Sandquist; sister, Patricia Warren of Raymond, NH; several nephews, nieces and cousins.
There are no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel at a later date.
