John grew up in Manchester with his brothers George and Antonio and graduated from Central High School, Class of 1941A. Upon his graduation he entered the Coast Guard Academy and then served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his military service, he attended the University of New Hampshire and later graduated from St. Anselm College in 1949. He taught History at Pinkerton Academy and then worked at the U.S. Post Office in Manchester for 32 years until his retirement in 1981.
John married Dorothy Ann Remington of Manchester, NH. They spent 54 wonderful years together and raised three children - Timothy Harrises, Christopher Harrises and his wife Diane Heineman, and Diane Harrises. He was predeceased by his brother George and is survived by his wife and children, his brother Antonio, and more loving family members and good friends than anyone could ever imagine.
There will be no formal memorial services. John's wishes were to pay your respects by giving to the charity of your choice, caring for those you love, and living a life as full and as happy as his.
