John J. Kovacs, 66, of Manchester died Thursday June 15, 2023 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a ten year battle with cancer.
Born January 21, 1957 in Toldeo, OH, he was the son of the late John & Eileen (Shriver) Kovacs. He grew up in Toledo until age 12 then the family moved to Anaheim, CA where John went on to graduate from Santiago High School. He moved to Manchester in 1984. In 1987, he married his wife Suzanne (Glaude) with whom he enjoyed 36 years of marriage.
in 2006, John retired from a career as Unit Manager with the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. After retirement, he worked for Loomis Armored Trucks, Concord Hospital, and Security for FAA in Nashua
John will be remembered for his honesty, strong work ethic, and love of family. His family was the most important thing to him, and they will miss him deeply. John’s stem cell transplant in 2020, allowed him to get to know and enjoy time with his grandsons, Jackson and Camden. As John would always say, “I couldn’t love them more than I do now.”
John is survived by his wife Suzanne Kovacs of Manchester; daughter Lindsey Aku of Manchester; grandsons Jackson & Camden Aku; his sister Kitty Dugre of Londonderry; his aunt Pat Hammer & her husband Mike of Toledo, OH; brothers-in-law Dennis Glaude & his wife Terrie of Elberton, GA, David Glaude & his wife Pamela of Manchester, and Mark Glaude & his wife Teresa of Brunswick, GA; mother-in-law Madeleine Glaude of Brunswick, GA; nieces Olivia Etheridge & her husband Nick, Abigail Glaude, and Jillian Johnson & her husband Bentz of Elberton, GA; and many cousins.
SERVICES: A committal service will be held Wednesday at 11 Am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
